Grace’s Handguns

In Resident Evil Requiem, handguns aren’t meant to deal heavy damage to enemies. Instead, they serve as control tools that help you interrupt enemy attacks, buy time, and set up stronger follow-up moves. A quick shot to the legs can stagger a zombie, while a headshot often opens the door for melee attacks or a quick escape.

Grace and Leon both rely on handguns early on in Resident Evil Requiem, but their arsenals develop very differently as the story goes on. Grace only gains access to two pistols throughout the game, and neither can be upgraded. Because of this, making the right choice early on can significantly improve chances of survival.

This is usually the first handgun you come across in Resident Evil Requiem when playing as Grace.

The only downside is that you have to detour to pick it up, which causes some players to skip it during speedruns. For a regular playthrough, though, it’s definitely worth grabbing.

Leon’s Handguns

Alligator Snapper

Leon begins Resident Evil Requiem with this reliable weapon.

Silencer 9

Matilda IMP

A classic weapon that long-time Resident Evil fans will recognize.

The burst fire is effective for quickly staggering enemies in Resident Evil Requiem, though many players prefer it more for style than pure efficiency.

Revolvers/Heavy Handguns

If normal pistols are your control tools, revolvers in Resident Evil Requiem are your panic buttons. These weapons are built to eliminate major threats with a single shot. Ammo is extremely limited, so every bullet must count.

Most enemies in Resident Evil Requiem won’t survive more than one hit from these weapons during your first playthrough. Even stronger monsters usually take massive damage or get instantly neutralized. Save ammo for elite enemies or bosses, andaim for the head to trigger instant kills. Use them to escape dangerous situations, andkeep one round ready in case an enemy breaks through your defenses.

Requiem

The Requiem is Leon’s heavy sidearm in Resident Evil Requiem and one of the most powerful weapons you’ll carry during the campaign.

What makes it powerful

  • Massive damage
  • Often decapitates zombies instantly
  • Prevents enemies from returning as Blister Heads

This revolver is best reserved for dangerous encounters or emergencies. Regular zombies might sometimes survive a shot, but most will lose their heads right away.

Grace can also use the Requiem to stun the mysterious Girl, giving you a brief window to escape if things get out of control.

Redemption

Since it can hold only one bullet at a time, every shot needs to count. The weapon becomes even more intriguing when paired with specific charms.

Pro tip: Equip the Power Shades Charm. Since the Redemption only has one round, the charm’s bonus effect stays active the whole time. This makes the weapon one of the most powerful attacks in the entire game.

Ghost Grudge

Although it begins roughly as powerful as the Requiem, Leon’s revolver can eventually outperform it once fully upgraded.

Shotguns

When things get chaotic in Resident Evil Requiem, shotguns are Leon’s go-to weapon. These guns excel at close-range crowd control, making them ideal for clearing narrow hallways, breaking up enemy groups, or stopping a charging monster in its tracks. A clean headshot at point-blank range can instantly kill most zombies, making shotguns one of the most reliable ways to save health when enemies get too close.

Only Leon has access to shotguns in Resident Evil Requiem, and each one provides slightly different advantages depending on your playstyle.

MSBG 500

The MSBG 500 is usually the first shotgun Leon finds during the story.

The 990-TAC is the strongest shotgun available in Resident Evil Requiem if you’re willing to invest resources.

If you fully upgrade this weapon, it easily becomes Leon’s most effective shotgun, capable of wiping out groups of enemies with just a few blasts.

W870 Police

Fans of the series will instantly recognize this shotgun. It originally belonged to Kendo and was featured in Resident Evil 2.

Submachine Guns

Submachine guns in Resident Evil Requiem focus on speed and pressure. Instead of depending on a single powerful shot, these weapons flood enemies with a continuous burst of bullets. They are great for hitting weak spots and chopping off limbs, which can quickly take down even aggressive zombies.

The downside is clear. SMGs use up ammunition rapidly. If you’re not careful, you could run out before the next encounter even starts.

Gal

Machine gun ammo is fairly common in Resident Evil Requiem, so the Gal can be used more freely than other weapons. Its main weakness is low stability, making sustained fire hard to control.

Stiri REVO3 A1

Freya’s Needle

This is the only submachine gun Grace can unlock in Resident Evil Requiem.

Classic 70

The Classic 70 is the first sniper rifle Leon gets in Resident Evil Requiem.

Instead of concentrating solely on long-range sniping, the Marksman 1A is built for quick follow-up shots. This makes it surprisingly effective in chaotic fights where enemies keep moving.

Grenades and Throwables

Throwables in Resident Evil Requiem are your quick fix for overwhelming situations. Whether you’re surrounded by enemies or facing a particularly dangerous creature, these weapons can clear space instantly or deal massive area damage.

Leon and Grace each have access to different types of throwables, and they serve very different purposes depending on who you’re playing.

Hand Grenade

Leon’s main throwable in Resident Evil Requiem is the classic Hand Grenade, which causes powerful explosive damage.

Another throwable available to Grace is the Bottle of Acid.

The Hatchet is Leon’s starting melee weapon and stays useful throughout the campaign.

Initially, the Mortal Edge is more durable than Leon’s hatchet. However, after fully upgrading the Hatchet, it eventually outperforms the axe overall.

Grace relies on knives rather than heavy melee weapons.
